CENTURY CITY: OK, just the facts, ma’am: Jack Webb was born 100 years ago today. The actor and producer is most famous for the documentary-style cop drama “Dragnet,” in which he starred as no-nonsense Det. Joe Friday. The show ran for eight seasons during the 1950s and returned for four more in the late 1960s. He also created popular shows such as “Emergency!” and “Adam-12.” He died in 1982.
Special thanks to “Chase’s Calendar of Events” and Brooklyn Public Library.
