Brooklyn Bridge Park marina relaunches in smoother waters

The marina in Brooklyn Bridge Park is officially opening at full capacity.
ONE°15 Brooklyn originally opened in May 2016, but boats met rough water conditions at the site. A marina spokesperson told the Brooklyn Eagle that a new wave-attenuator system has been installed, which will reduce wave strength by up to 70 percent. Boat owners “won’t have the choppy waters they experienced previously,” he said.
Singapore-based SUTL Enterprise, led by chairperson and CEO Arthur Tay, developed the $28 million, eight-acre project.
In addition to the docks, the marina includes a sailing club and school and a nonprofit community dock for free and low-cost boating, toward which it contributes 2 percent of its annual revenue.
The marina is also developing a harbor club.
