Suspect, 19, charged in killing of young father in Canarsie

Police arrested 19-year-old Julius Allen on Wednesday, who they suspect gunned down a new father in Canarsie’s Bayview Houses in November 2018.
Allen is charged with murder in the second degree in connection to the death of 26-year-old Anthony Ponce. The victim’s body was found with gunshot wounds to the head and chest in the fifth floor hallway of the New York City Housing Authority complex at 5985 Shore Parkway, where he lived. According to his Facebook, Ponce had just recently become a father.
Allen is also charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
