There’s no better place to celebrate New York City Beer Week than Brooklyn — a borough with a dizzying array of craft beers and no shortage of bars to pour them. The weeklong event, sponsored by the New York City Brewers Guild, is on in full force from Feb. 23-March 2nd. Here’s our guide on where to raise drink, dance and be merry next week.

Saturday in Greenpoint

The festivities kick off on Saturday with the New York City Beer Week Opening Bash. Thirty NYC breweries, including a number of Brooklyn’s own, join a group of 75-plus of the best in the U.S at the Brooklyn Expo Center at an event with music, games, merch and local vendors offering food pairings.

(72 Noble St. Feb. 23 from 11:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. $85, $115 VIP. RSVP here.)

Sunday in DUMBO

For a little taste of friendly competition — and some original brews — head down to Randolph Beer on Sunday afternoon for a homebrew contest and a bottle to share. The winner gets a $100 bar tab and a chance to brew their beer with the brewery’s equipment.

(82 Prospect St. Feb 24 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Free entry, $10 for bottle share. RSVP here.)

Monday in Williamsburg

For the ale aficionado: Give your liver a break at a mixed-fermentation panel discussion at Grimms Ales, where the owners of Grimms will pick the brains of three fermentation experts. Learn about process, flavor and methodology — and join the tasting in the taproom.

(990 Metropolitan Ave. Feb 25 from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. $15. RSVP here.)

Tuesday in Manhattan

Make the trip across the East River to celebrate Brooklyn in inter-borough fashion at Brooklyn Night. At Fools Gold on the Lower East Side, a live DJ will be spinning Brooklyn Hip Hop all night, and bartenders will be pouring Brooklyn-made beer. All proceeds from the event go to The Trayvon Martin Foundation.

(145 E. Houston St. Feb. 26 from 7 p.m. – late. Free. RSVP here.)

Wednesday at the movies

Put your feet up at Nitehawk Cinema in Prospect Park, and enjoy a screening of Martin Scorsese’s 1990 gangster classic “Goodfellas.” Themed dinner-and-beer pairings from Gun Hill Brewing Company will be on the menu. Options range from the “Now I Gotta Turn My Back on You” (homestyle hero with an IPA) to the “Don’t Worry About That Bag” (Italian wedding cookies a la mode with a Tiramisu Style Ale).

(188 Prospect Park West. Feb. 27 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. $50. RSVP here.)

Thursday in Queens (but really in Williamsburg)

Sip some Queens brews at Beer Karma on Thursday evening. Options on tap will include Transmitter, LIC Beer Project and Fifth Hammer.

(470 Union Ave. Feb. 28 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Free. RSVP here.)

Friday in Williamsburg (again)

Get a sense of all Brooklyn brewers have to offer at Randolph Beer’s Williamsburg location, where you can try the wares of 12 different local breweries at the self-serve bar and eat some house snacks, from artisanal tootsie rolls to pastrami bagel bites.

(104 S. 4th St. March 1 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Free. RSVP here.)

Saturday in the mosh pit

Close out the week with a bang — a headbang, that is. Head north to Greenpoint to NYC Beer Week Bangover at St. Vitus Bar for some heavy metal and unlimited pours.

(1120 Manhattan Ave. March 2 from 7 p.m. – late. $10-$26.66. RSVP here.)
