Thirty-Year-Old Man Hit by Train at 59th Street in Critical Condition

The man hit by a N train at the 59th Street station in Sunset Park at on Thursday, August 16 around 4:40 p.m. is hospitalized in critical condition.

A police source told this paper that the victim, a 30-year-old Asian man, accidentally leaned backwards and slipped before getting struck, possibly due to fainting. The man was with his eight-year-old son, who was not injured.

The victim was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn where, the source added, he is, “likely to die.”

Authorities said that a witness told to police that the victim leaned backwards and slipped. He was subsequently struck on the back of his head by the moving train.
