Some disturbing accidents happened in Brooklyn this past weekend.

On Saturday, a 50 year-old-man lost part of his arm and broke his leg after an incoming L train at the Broadway Junction stop crushed him, police reported. At around 1:30 a.m., Lamont Powell tripped and fell onto the tracks. The train operator saw Powell on the tracks and hit the brakes, but was unable to stop in time, running him over.

Powell was rushed to Brookdale Hospital and listed in critical condition on Saturday, the New York Daily News reported.

On Sunday, another man, 38, was impaled in the abdomen by a falling tree branch in a gruesome accident as he was driving his minivan along the Bay Ridge waterfront. It took rescue workers on the Belt Parkway about an hour to free him from the vehicle, and he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, ABC11 reported.

On Monday morning, a disaster was avoided when a grenade was found on the 10th floor of West Eighth Street shortly before 11 a.m., across the street from NYPD’s 60th Precinct station, authorities reported.

The grenade wasn’t detonated and it’s still unclear whether it was live. There were no reports of any injuries, according to NBCNewYork.
