After a year with Justice Sylvia Hinds-Radix as president, the Nathan R. Sobel Kings County American Inn of Court installed a new president during a ceremony in Manhattan on Monday.

Victoria Lombardi-Bodnar officially became the 15th president of the Inn.

Lombardi-Bodnar, a principal in the law firm Silverson, Pareres & Lombardi LLP., is a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law. She is known for trying high exposure, personal injury and wrongful death cases in both Federal and the local Supreme Courts.

During the installation on Monday, Justice Hinds-Radix, an associate justice of the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department, talked about how much her year as president meant to her.

“I want to thank you for a wonderful year and all of the support that you’ve given to me,” Justice Hinds-Radix said. “All of the things that we were able to accomplish, all of the love, collegiality and all of the learning that we’ve done over the past year has been amazing. I thank you all. I know you will be in wonderful hands as Victoria steps in and continues our great traditions.”

After Justice Hinds-Radix swore in Lombardi-Bodnar, she offered her some advice — that if she has a question about running the Inns, she should call Lucy DiSalvo and Jeffrey Feldman, who help to run the Inn.

“As all of you know, we wouldn’t be functioning as an organization without Lucy,” Justice Hinds-Radix said. “Victoria, if you are ever in doubt about anything call Jeffrey and he’ll figure it out.”

Lombardi-Bodnar kept her speech short, thanking her friends, family members and law partners for helping her to set aside time to commit to the Inn.

“I hope this will be a good year for us,” Lombardi-Bodnar said. “I look forward to being president and I welcome any suggestions. I also want to thank our outgoing president, Judge Hinds-Radix. Many of you know her as a great, great judge. She started as a trial judge and even though she is in the Appellate Division, we had her first. She was a great president, who brought a lot of honor to this Inn through her example.”

In addition to Lombardi-Bodnar being sworn in, the new officers and directors were also installed. The new president-elect is Joseph Rosato, who currently serves as the president of the Columbian Lawyers Association of Brooklyn, the counselor and Continuing Legal Education chair is Justice Carl Landicino, the treasurer is Anthony Vaughn Jr. and the secretary is Justice Sylvia Ash.
