R train will not be operating late nights this week

Once again, there are partial evening shutdowns and complete overnight shutdowns on the R train for commuters to be aware of this week.

According to the MTA, from 9:45 p.m. until 12 a.m. from Monday, February 5 through Thursday, February 8, no R trains will operate between 95th Street in Bay Ridge and 36th Street due to track maintenance.

Passengers can take free shuttle buses and the N train.

During those hours, the R train will operate between 71st Avenue and 36th Street, and via the D line to and from Ninth Avenue, which is the last stop.

For 45th Street, 53rd Street, and 59th Street, take the N via transfer at 36th Street.

At 59th Street, transfer between the N train and shuttle buses which will make all stops between 59th Street and Bay Ridge-95th Street.

In addition, from 12:01 to 5 a.m., from Tuesday, February 6 until Friday, February 9, no R trains will be running at all, due to track maintenance.

Passengers can take the N train and transfer at 59th Street for free shuttle buses making all stops to Bay Ridge-95th Street.
