62nd Precinct officers dubbed cops of the month for saving local woman from suicide attempt
Hats off.
Two 62nd Precinct officers were awarded Cop of the Month honors on Tuesday, February 21 for successfully saving the life of a Bensonhurst woman who cops say attempted suicide late last month.
According to Captain Anthony Sanseverino, commanding officer of the 62nd Precinct, at around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 28 the two officers – P.O. Thomas Mercado and P.O. Jean Milord – responded to a 911 call to a residence on 15th Avenue, at which time they discovered a 32-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive with a belt fastened around her neck.
