PHOTOS: Bay Ridge braves blankets of snow thanks to Winter Storm Niko

Kings County was blanketed with as much as 10 inches of snow in some neighborhoods thanks to Winter Storm Niko on Thursday, February 9.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Midwood was hit with 10 inches — the most in the borough — while neighborhoods like Marine Park and Sheepshead Bay were right behind with nine-and-a-half and nine inches of snow, respectively.

Bay Ridge also got its fair share of snow from the storm, which, according to the NWS. had moved out of the New York City area by about 4 p.m. Thursday, with small pockets of flurries continuing through unitl about 6 p.m. when the city’s winter storm advisory — which began at midnight — was set to expire.
