Elderly woman robbed of jewelry during open house in Bensonhurst
An 87-year-old woman filed a police report after over $1,000 in jewelry was taken from her Bensonhurst home, keepsakes she believes were removed from her bedroom during one of three open houses she had.
The woman told police she discovered the jewels missing from her jewelry box in mid-December after the three open houses (one on December 4, a second on December 11 and a third on December 17) were held.
Police said there was no forced entry visible inside the home — located near 66th Street and 20th Avenue — and that the real estate agent was notified.
