Generally Speaking: Peter Clavin to be inducted into FHHS Hall of Fame
Well-known community leader and owner/director of the Joseph P. Clavin Funeral Home J. Peter Clavin will join three fellow graduates from Fort Hamilton High School when the school’s Alumni Association inducts them into the Hall of Fame on February 13, 2016, at the Rex Manor, 1100 60th Street. This includes having their current and yearbook photos plus biographies framed and hung near the school Library on the second floor, which has become known as the Wall of Fame at the Shore Road school.
In addition to Clavin, Class of 1971, the other inductees are Jaiquawn Jarrett, Class of 2007, and posthumously, Joseph Graffagnino, Class of 1991, and Kristi Kvalheim, Class of 1995.
Among Clavin’s many community service accomplishments are having served as president of the Cathedral Club of Brooklyn, Bay Ridge Lions Club, Bay Ridge Men’s Club and the Bayfort Benevolent Associates. He is a member of several public service groups including the Fort Hamilton Citizens Action Committee, the 12:30 Club of Bay Ridge, Narrows Community Theater, the Knights of Columbus and the St. Patrick’s Society of Brooklyn. He has also served as grand marshal of the Ragamuffin Parade and has garnered several awards including the prestigious Civic Award from the Bay Ridge Community Council.
