Downtown Brooklyn brightens up in celebration of Chanukah
With the lighting of the menorah, Downtown Brooklyn marked the second night of Chanukah on Monday, December 7.
The Rabbi Jacob J. Hecht official Brooklyn Menorah Lighting was hosted by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams along with Rabbi Aaron Raskin. The annual event was held at dusk in Columbus Park located on Montague and Court Street in Downtown Brooklyn.
The menorah lighting was immediately followed by a celebration at Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon Street, where the audience was entertained by special guest performer Bobby Doowah, as they enjoyed traditional sufganiyot (round jelly doughnuts).
