Kingsborough Community College Professor and Biological Sciences Department Chairperson Loretta Brancaccio-Taras was recently awarded the 2016 Carski Foundation Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Award from the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).

“Dr. Loretta Brancaccio-Taras is well-deserving of the 2016 Carski Award,” said Pace University Professor and Assistant Biology Department Chair Dr. Marcy Ann Kelly, the ASM member who nominated her. “Her successes inside and outside of the classroom have made substantial impacts on her students and the profession.”

Brancaccio-Taras will present the Carski Award lecture at the 2016 ASM Microbe Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.
