Board moves toward conditional approval for development at Pavilion
The preview of a new housing plan for the Pavilion Theater and the long shuttered Circle’s Restaurant adjacent to it, opened to mixed reviews last month as developers presented the plans to Community Board 6’s Landmarks and Land Use Committee.
Now, with the city Landmarks Preservation Commission’s public hearing on the proposed five-story condo and renovations postponed to August 18, involved community members can gather their thoughts and speak to the “treatment” of the building that lies in a historic Park Slope district, directly across from Prospect Park.
“Our committee reviewed the plan and felt, overall, that there was a lot of care given to the treatment of the Pavilion Theatre building itself, but had some reservations about the treatment of the adjacent building,” said District Manager of CB 6 Craig Hammerman.
