Registration opens for Hoban Run
Race in memory of slain cop on Sept. 20
A 5-mile race held in memory of a Bay Ridge police officer slain in the line of duty has become one of the most popular traditions in the neighborhood.
The 27th Annual Hoban Run, named in honor of police officer Christopher Hoban, will take place on Sunday, Sept. 20.
Registration for runners is now open, officials at Xaverian High School announced. Hoban was a 1980 graduate of Xaverian High School. He was shot to death by suspected drug dealers during an undercover buy and bust operation in upper Manhattan in 1988. Hoban was 26 years old when he died.
