P.S. 102 students meet NYPD’s K-9 Unit
Third graders at Bay Ridge’s P.S. 102 spent an afternoon with man’s best friend on Monday, June 22 thanks to the NYPD K-9 Unit.
“The NYPD K-9 Unit is fascinating,” said Assemblymember Nicole Malliotakis, who organized the event. “The bond and level of trust between the officer and the dog is remarkable, and their value in investigations and crime prevention is undoubted.”
Students spent the afternoon outside in the small schoolyard, watching the dogs respond to commands, and learning about the different missions they are taken on, and even got to spend some one-on-one time petting the dogs.
