Former police commissioner Ray Kelly was the commencement speaker at Bishop Kearney High School’s graduation ceremony, where he told the graduates to be ready to make a difference in the world.

In his address, Kelly sought to remind the graduates that the education they had received at Bishop Kearney High School, a school for Catholic girls located at 2202 60th St. in Bensonhurst, had prepared them well for the years ahead.

“You are our hope for the future. Be ready to address the needs of the times and make a difference wherever you go,” Kelly told the graduates at the ceremony, which took place at Brooklyn College’s Walt Whitman Auditorium on June 6.

“Be proud of the fact that you are a member of the Bishop Kearney sisterhood and always support each other in future challenges,” Kelly told the Class of 2015.

Bishop Kearney High School was marking its 50th Commencement Exercise. The school, named after Bishop Raymond Kearney, an auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn who died in 1956, opened in the early 1960s.

The valedictorian of the Class of 2015 is Gloria Yang. The salutatorian is Sissy Wang. Both students will be attending Fordham University in the fall.

School officials said that 100 percent of the Class of 2015 will go on to attend college in the fall and that the class had earned $15 million in scholarships.

The scholarships came from schools such as the City University of New York (CUNY) Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, CUNY Macauley Honors College, Fairfield University, Fordham University, Loyola University, University of Scranton, Marist College, Marquette University and Manhattan College.

“We are very proud of the scholastic accomplishments of this class,” Principal Elizabeth Guglielmo said in a statement. “These young women have worked very hard, focused on their college goals and achieved their personal best.”
