Say hello to beautiful city photos and original illustrations that have been handcrafted in the same tradition of the finest house-cured meats in Brooklyn or the chewiest coal-fired pizza crust in Manhattan.

“Not for Tourists” (“NFT”) is not just another line of guidebooks. Name aside, these guides are appealing to tourists, visitors and travelers of all stripes and are especially useful for residents, old and new, who want to take advantage of all their city has to offer. Whether you’ve lived in a city for five minutes or five decades, “NFT” will show you a side of it that you’ve never seen.

Co-founders Jane Pirone and Rob Tallia, along with editor Craig Nelson, will appear in Greenpoint on June 10 at 7 p.m. for a discussion on all things New York and NFT at WORD Bookstore in Greenpoint (126 Franklin St.)

The goal of “NFT” guides is to expose readers to both the well-known hotspots and hidden gems of major cities. In addition to highlighting restaurants, bars, historical sites, and other quintessential landmarks, the “NFT” guides inform readers of the wheres, whats and hows of the essential inner-workings of the city, from farmers markets and train stations to the best bakeries and wine shops.

The book includes everything from restaurants, bars, shopping, and theater to information on hotels, airports, transportation, and landmarks. Need to find the best pizza places around? “NFT” has you covered. How about a list of the top vintage clothing stores in the city? They’ve got that, too. The nearest movie theater or coffee shop — whatever you need, “NFT” puts it at your fingertips.
