KCCBA Annual Dinner called ‘most successful ever’
If you examine all of the tall buildings around Borough Hall, it becomes clear that the primary industry downtown is the administration of justice. Federal, state and city courts are within walking distance of each other, and the primary engines of that industry, criminal defense lawyers, are among the pillars of that entire edifice.
Last weekend, the Kings County Criminal Bar Association (KCCBA) held its annual dinner at Giando on the Water at the edge of Williamsburg. Newly elected President Michael C. Farkas presided over one of the most successful annual dinners to date, and brought with him the support and networking power that only a second-generation leader can summon.
Son of George Farkas, a former president of KCCBA, Michael remembers that he always knew he wanted to become a lawyer. Indeed, he grew up visiting bar association meetings and assisting his father.
