It’s back!

After making its triumphant return last year, Fleet Week New York will celebrates its 27th year from Wednesday, May 20 through Tuesday, May 26.

‘Keep Calm and Fleet Week On’ is the slogan for this year’s jam packed event, which gives New Yorkers the chance to honor and meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guard personnel. In addition, Brooklynites will be able to watch the Parade of Ships stream through the Narrows and under the Verrazano Bridge on their way to berths on the Hudson River.

Around 1,500 servicemen and women are expected to participate in the event, which was first held in 1984. In 2013, the event was cancelled due to federal budget cuts.
