March 4, birthdays for Rick Perry, Landon Donovan, Patricia Heaton
Brooklyn Today

ON THIS DAY in 1908, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published an article titled “Fear Belmont May Not Use Blackwell Bridge.”
The article focused on a debate about whether or not the Steinway Tunnel should be purchased.
“The Blackwell’s Island Bridge Protective Association and the Committee of Forty in Queens have each written letters to the Public Service Commission protesting against the purchase of the Steinway tunnel from the Belmont interests unless an agreement is made to compel the Interborough and Mr. Belmont’s other traction interests in Queens…” the Eagle reported.
