
2014 Eagle All-Brooklyn high school football team — defense

ALL BROOKLYN DEFENSIVE MVP — Deonte Roberts, LB, Erasmus Hall, senior
Roberts finished the year with 71 tackles and two sacks, but most importantly he was like a coach on the field for Erasmus Hall. He helped to mold a young team into a championship contender.
FIRST TEAM DEFENSE
Alejandro Oregon, DE, Lincoln, senior
Lincoln’s best defensive player had 59 tackles, 11 sacks and an interception. He stood out on a team that is loaded with defensive talent.
Kamaal Seymour, DL, Grand Street Campus, senior
Seymour led Grand Street’s defense which looked like one of the best in the PSAL at times. He had an impressive 10 sacks to go with 73 tackles.
Kamari Jones Hunter, DL, Canarsie, senior
Hunter was in the running for defensive MVP. He finished with 67 tackles, an amazing 21 sacks, a interception, three fumble recoveries, a touchdown and a safety.
Kadeen Dryden, DL, New Utrecht, senior
Dryden is a big and strong two-way player for New Utrecht. He had 48 tackles, six sacks, an interception and a safety.
Matthew Donato, CB, Jefferson, senior
Donato did a bit of everything for Jefferson this season. He had four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and 14 tackles on defense. He also had 615 yards of total offense and four touchdowns. He even kicked a few extra points.
Jesse Rivera, CB, Canarsie, junior
A playmaker on defense, Rivera had five interceptions, a sack, 47 tackles and a touchdown.
Xavier Braithwaite, CB, Erasmus Hall, senior
Braithwaite guarded the best receivers in the city and had two interceptions, a fumble recover, 22 tackles and a touchdown while doing it.
Gregory Juliano, DB, Xaverian, senior
Juliano is a smart defensive player that did a bit of everything for a Xaverian team that had to deal with many injuries throughout the season.
Daquan Glover, CB, Fort Hamilton, senior
Glover had an impressive season in Fort Hamilton’s backfield with 43 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery.
Tysene Foster, DL, Erasmus Hall, senior
Roberts might have been Erasmus Hall’s coach on the field, but Foster was the guy that got things done. He finished with 48 tackles and 12 sacks this year.
Edwin Lee, CB, Grand Street, senior
Lee stood out this season behind 47 tackles, an interception that helped lead Grand Street to a win over New Utrecht and a touchdown.
