For the second consecutive year, Casale Jewelers of Staten Island and not-for-profit organization ConstructRELIEF are collaborating to host their family-friendly Holiday Winter Wonderland event, with a few changes.

This year’s event will run for four days, December 18-21, one more than last year’s holiday celebration. It also has a new venue, Camp Pouch, 1465 Manor Road, on Staten Island.

“This year should be bigger and better than ever. We’ve partnered with the Boy Scouts of America,” said Cory Schifter, owner of Casale Jewelers, who organizes the event with ConstructRELIEF’s Dominick Ciccarelli, whose organization helps families rebuild homes from Superstorm Sandy.

“The nights will have fun for everybody. We’ll have Santa there, train and carousel rides. It’s great for kids and we wanted to bring something positive to Staten Island,” Schifter said.

While admission is free, the money collected through donations to access specific attractions will be donated to noble causes.

“Money donated will mostly help rebuild destroyed Sandy homes, but this year there will be other foundations we will donate to,” continued Schifter. One of those organizations is Cooley’s Anemia Foundation, which is dedicated to helping children with Thalassemia, a genetic blood disease.

Children had a great time during last year’s event and they had their favorite moments, said Schifter. “They love the train ride around park as well as the carousel. Believe it or not, the Grinch made an appearance, too,” he said. “The line for Santa was always long. They enjoyed crafts and activities. It was just a whole lot of fun.”

This year’s new addition promises to be another fan favorite as characters from the hit movie “Frozen” will be in attendance as well.

The activities run from 5-8 p.m. each day. For more information on the holiday event, visit www.constructrelief.org.
