Culture Briefs: Mexican dance, Italian opera and human energy
ITALIAN FOLKSONG
In honor of Italian Heritage and Culture Month, the Italian Opera Company – which has been performing traditional Italian song for almost seven decades – is proud to present “A Celebration of Neapolitan Folksong” on Tuesday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dyker Library, 8202 13th Avenue.
The evening affair is free of charge and will feature sopranos Nina Di Gregorio, Camille Simeone, Gloria Pandolfini, Florence Guida, Lucy Wussow, Angela Francavilla and Regina Celli, and tenors John Houlihan, Benny Togati, Erberto Modica, Vladinir Lokshin, Carlo Notaro, Louis Vingelli, John Bottalico, Enzo Guarino, and John Gurrier under the musical direction of Thomas Siklos.
