The trustees of the State University of New York (SUNY) have called a special board meeting in New York City on Thursday, October 2, at 11 a.m.

Surprisingly, the recently approved handoff of a walk-in emergency clinic at Long Island College Hospital (LICH) in Brooklyn to NYU-Langone Medical Center is not on the agenda, according to SUNY spokesperson David Doyle.

An agenda for the meeting is available online. Campus safety issues are listed as a topic, along with any related board matters.

Instructions for accessing the live meeting webcasts will be available the morning of the meeting.

A SUNY release said it is anticipated that the board chairman will call for a motion to convene an executive session, which is not public.

On Monday,  a judge dismissed a lawsuit by the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) on Monday, allowing NYU-Langone to take over the clinic from SUNY without rehiring LICH nurses. SUNY is selling the Cobble Hill hospital’s property, which includes 20 buildings, to developer Fortis Property Group, which plans to build condos.

The board meeting will take place at The SUNY Global Center in the multipurpose room, 116 East 55th Street, New York, NY 10022
