Etiquette Boss: Dining endgame
After-Dinner Table Manners: Most people adhere to etiquette rules at the beginning of a meal. They sit, immediately remove their napkins, place in the lap and wait for everyone at the table to be served.
If there is a host, most dinner guests correctly wait until he/she lifts the napkin as a sign that dinner has officially been served. However less uniformity prevails at the end of the meal.
Here is a quick reminder: Do not push back your plate to indicate you are finished. Instead, place knife and fork together, in the 4:20 position, while imagining the plate as the face of a clock. Do not group dishes together or stack them unless you are in the home of a relative, and are helping to clear the table.
