Man wanted for bus stop burgle in Coney Island

The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery which occurred within the confines of the 60th Precinct on Friday, July 18.

At approximately1 p.m. at the corner of Mermaid Avenue and West 31st Street, the suspect – described as a black male in his 30s – allegedly approached a 54-year-old female while she was standing at a bus stop. The suspect then forcibly removed the victim’s necklace, causing her to fall and hit her face.

According to cops, the suspect then fled and the victim was removed to Coney Island Hospital to be treated for a laceration to her head.

The suspect is described as being 5’7” tall, and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, dark shorts and white sneakers.
