Suspect struck Brooklyn subway rider with hammer

New York City police are looking for a suspect who struck a man in the head with a hammer at a subway station.

Police say it happened at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday at the Fulton Street and Rockaway Avenue subway stop in Brooklyn.

They say a 32-year-old was buying a MetroCard when the suspect approached him from behind and hit him in the head with a hammer and demanded money.

The suspect fled after the victim complied.

The victim was treated for a head injury at a hospital and released.
