Which buildings are Brooklyn’s Ugliest? Help us decide.

Soon we won’t have 153 Remsen St. to kick around anymore (to paraphrase Dick Nixon). We need other eyesores to obsess about.

Pre-demolition scaffolding just went up on the sad little Brooklyn Heights building the previous owner, the late Fred Musser, and then current owner Quinlan Development Group allowed to fall into disrepair. It and two neighboring buildings are being torn down for an apartment tower.

Other mistreated buildings make Brooklyn residents and civic leaders mad. And booming Brooklyn development has brought forth a brigade of bad-looking buildings – so say the critics on numerous real estate websites.

Taking our cues from the critics, we devised a Magical Misery Tour of candidates for Brooklyn’s Ugliest Buildings. What do you think? Colleague Rob Abruzzese’s photos will help you decide.

Vote here – and offer up your own nominations, too.

By the way, we culled the Ugly candidates from prosperous neighborhoods. Blight caused by poverty is a subject for another day. So is the ugliness some subsidized affordable-home builders caused with shoddy construction in East New York a few years ago. You know who you are. Shame on you.

85 Bay 8th St. ‘should be condemned’

This ‘eyesore’ at 8658 16th Ave. was a city Health Department building

370 Jay St. looks like a ‘derelict’

45 Third Place is the ‘Carroll Gardens Atrocity’

1882 E. 12th St. is a ‘five-story monster’

No ‘obscene performances’ or birth control counseling allowed at 215 Exeter St. – but building a ginormous house is okay

110 Beaumont St. was mocked – but it sold for $3.17 million

What’s with the convoluted front entrance at 20 Bayard St.?

214 Richardson St. is ‘the other finger building’

What are those things on the top of 146 S. Fourth St.?

Do you think this building is one of Brooklyn’s Ugliest? What’s your (un)favorite Ugly B’klyn Building? Comment below.
