The Kings County Nathan Sobel American Inns, led by President Justice Ellen Spodek, will tackle a challenging topic at their next Continuing Legal Education session on Thursday, Feb. 27, starting at 6 p.m. at Brooklyn Bar Association headquarters, 123 Remsen St.

Inn Administrator Lucy DiSalvo says Inn members will enjoy “a delicious buffet dinner” if they show up by 5:30 p.m., with the CLE session, “Pre-Settlement Funding Companies — Not As Simple As You Think,” getting underway at 6 p.m.

In keeping with Inn tradition, an expert panel will perform the informative presentation. They are Hon. Spodek, Hon. Robin S. Garson, Appellate Division Justice Cheryl Chambers, Hajin Suh, Andrew Leftt, Scott Star, Doron Leiby, Paul Weitz, Steve Finkelstein, Alan Tracthman and Don Savatta.

The Inn, now in its 14th year, has the assistance of other officers, who are President Elect Dave Chidekel, Counselor Justice Arthur Schack, Treasurer Justice Miriam Cyrulnik and Secretary Jon Besunder. The immediate past president is Marc M. Dittenhoefer. The executive is Jeff Feldman.

These Inns, following the practice of the ancient English Inns of Court, are each governed by a Board of Masters who are App. Div. Justice Chambers, Judge Joanne Quinones, Justice Carl Landicino, Federal Judge William Kuntz, Kings Criminal Court Chief Judge Barry Kamins, Appellate Div. Justice Sylvia Hinds-Radix, Hon. Gloria Cohen Aronin, Lawrence DiGiovanna, Mark Longo, Steve Harkavy, Victoria Lombardi, Steve Finkelestein, Steve Goolnick, Joseph Rosato and Paul Weitz.

The Kings Inn, a chapter of the U.S. Inns of Court, was founded by Justice Marsha Steinhardt and retired Justices Gerard Rosenberg and Abraham Gerges along with former Justice Edward Rappaport, who serves as president emeritus.
