‘The Wizard of Oz’ Coming to Brooklyn Center
Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College (BCBC) will conclude its 2013-14 Target Storybook Series with American Family Theater’s “The Wizard of Oz” on Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m..
Based on L. Frank Baum’s classic book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” this original musical, which is different than the MGM movie version of the story, tells the beloved story of Dorothy’s adventure over the rainbow as she follows the yellow brick road with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion toward the Emerald City and the mysterious Wizard who can help her get home.
Featuring original lyrics, music and book by Don Kersey, the hour-long performance features such songs as “Be Brave,” “Back Home,” and “It’s So Easy to be a Witch.”
