Lutheran Medical Center doctor tells warning signs of stroke
Dr. Salman Azhar, chairman of Lutheran Medical Center’s Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine Department, will be the featured speaker at a health care forum on Oct. 13, offering information on how to recognize the signs of a stroke and how the hospital is pioneering advanced stroke treatments.
Azhar will be speaking at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Jamaica, Queens, as part of a Health Sunday Speaker Series. The doctor will also speak about the risk factors of stroke and offer tips on how to recognize when someone has a stroke.
Dr. Azhar’s presentation will take place at the conclusion of the church’s 10 a.m. service. It will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m. A question and answer period will follow. There will also be a health fair featuring free flu shots and blood pressure and diabetes screenings.
