Cycling through Brooklyn for climate change awareness
When planning an event to raise awareness about global climate change, what is the best way to provide convenient, free transportation with virtually no carbon footprint?
Bicycles, of course.
So it was an evening of pedal power on Saturday, August 31, as nearly two dozen cyclists took to the streets for a five-10 mile bike ride through Brooklyn and Manhattan as part of ChillCycle, an event that took riders on a tour of New York’s urban environment and the Lower East Side Ecology Center in an effort to educate them about citywide and local sustainability initiatives.
