Good morning. Today is the 232nd day of the year. On this day in 1900, a Fulton Street furniture store known as A.D. Matthews’ Sons ran a large advertisement in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. “Ladies’ oak dressing tables” were $8.75, a reclining chair was $5.75, a rocking chair was $1.95, a bookcase was $10.85 and blankets ranged in price from $2.98 to $12.98.  

Well-known people who were born today include boxing promoter Don King, politician Ron Paul, Brooklyn-born TV personality Al Roker (“Today Show”), TV journalist Connie Chung, rock singer Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin and actress Amy Adams.
