Man sought in rape and attempted murder of 16-year-old East New York girl

Police are asking for help in finding a man who allegedly raped, strangled and tried to murder a 16-year-old girl in her East New York apartment building on Sunday, July 14.

Antonio Owensford, 26, is said to have teamed up with building resident Anwar Desouza, 24, in luring the girl up to the roof, where they raped and assaulted her before throwing her off the three-story building at around 4 a.m.

The unnamed girl survived the fall and was taken to Brookdale Hospital with injuries to her leg, arm, back and neck.

Desouza was caught and charged with attempted murder, assault, rape, a criminal sex act, and strangulation. Owensford is still on the loose.
