City residents have a few days this week to respond to the city Department of Environmental Protection’s proposal to increase the water rate by 5.6 percent for Fiscal Year 2014.

Each borough gets a hearing; Brooklyn’s public hearing will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, at 7 p.m., at I.S. 228’s auditorium at 228 Avenue S in Gravesend.

Following the five public hearings, the Water Board will formally adopt a FY 2014 water rate on May 10, 2013, and the new rate will become effective on July 1, 2013.
