This just in: The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has restored limited L train service between Brooklyn and Manhattan, extending the line from Rockaway Parkway to 8th Avenue.

The reopening of the 14th Street tube reconnects residents of Williamsburg, Bushwick, East New York and Canarsie to Manhattan.

This news follows yesterday’s announcement of the return of the G line between Church Avenue in Brooklyn and Court Square in Queens.

That brings the list of subway lines still out of service in Brooklyn to the N – below 59th Street in Brooklyn – and the R – past Jay St-MetroTech into Manhattan.
