On Sunday — the day after a tornado hit Canarsie — the crystal clear weather drew crowds to the Tobacco Warehouse in DUMBO to munch their way through the popular food festival Smorgasburg. Long a staple of Williamsburg, food and drink vendors sold thousands of teriyaki balls, sandwiches, South American arepas and sweets to appreciative participants, many of whom made a picnic on the shady hills and benches of Brooklyn Bridge Park.

“Business has been really good,” said Danny of Danny’s Macaroons. “I’m very happy. It’s a great setting and a beautiful environment.”

The DUMBO Smorgasburg is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays and the Williamsburg Smorgasburg runs the same hours on Saturdays. More details at Brooklynflea.com.
