Festive Brooklyn takes to the streets
The days are warm and the breezes are cool: September is the month for some of Brooklyn’s best street fairs and festivals — from the gargantuan Atlantic Antic, to the literary Brooklyn Book Festival to the quintessentially Brooklyn Ragamuffin Parade. Here’s a listing of this month’s street happenings, in order of occurrence:
TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint
Sunday, Sept. 6, 1 to 5 p.m., Waterfront at Citi-Storage, 5 N.11 St. at Kent Ave. TASTE Williamsburg Greenpoint is an outdoor celebration of North Brooklyn’s local flavor. A block party-style tasting event, held rain or shine. Sample food tastes and sips of brews and wines from over 40 of the neighborhood’s best restaurants, breweries, and wineries, along with live music. More at tastewg.wordpress.com/
4th Annual Columbia Waterfront Fall Festival
Saturday, Sept. 8, 12 to 6 p.m. Columbia Street (from DeGraw to Union streets) and Union Street (from Columbia to Hicks streets). Thousands of visitors and community residents are set to enjoy a day of food, fun for all ages, shopping, live entertainment, games and rides. More at carrollgardensassociation.com/
