Good morning. Today is the 179th day of the year. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of June 27, 1902, reported that the state Senate passed a bill to appropriate $100,000 for a monument to the Revolutionary War prison ship martyrs in Fort Greene Park. That monument opened in 1908 and is still there.

Brooklyn Nets General Manager Billy King will conduct his pre-draft media anniversary this morning at 10 a.m. at the PNY Center in East Rutherford, N.J. … This evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the powerHouse Arena, 37 Main St. Marcus Samuelsson will discuss and sign copies of his memoir, “Yes, Chef.” The book chronicles Samuelsson’s journey from Gothenburg, Sweden, to some of the most demanding restaurants in Switzerland and France, and ultimately to New York City, where he earned a three-star rating from The New York Times at the age of 24.
