Weekend Bridge and Tunnel Closures

Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel

One tube at the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel will be closed this weekend, April 27-30^th , from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. The remaining tube will have one lane heading into Manhattan and one lane into Brooklyn.

The work being done is part of the $43.5 million project to replace the tunnels original 1950s-era electrical switches and feeder cables.

TD Five Boro Bike Tour

On Sunday, May 6^th the Staten Island-bound lower level of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed to traffic between 12:01 a.m. and 6 p.m. for the annual TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour. The Brooklyn-bound lower level of the bridge will also close at 12:01 a.m., and two of three lanes will reopen at approximately 8 a.m.

The upper level of the bridge will remain open in both directions throughout the event. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
