Collegiate Job Fair At LIU Brooklyn

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Long Island University, now known as LIU Brooklyn, will host the Best of Brooklyn Collegiate Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, in the Schwartz Gymnasium.

Students and alumni of eight local colleges  can advance their career efforts by networking with the more than 85 employers that have registered. Internship information and career advice will be presented.

 In addition to LIU, participating institutions include Brooklyn College, Kingsborough Community College, Medgar Evers College, NYC College of Technology (City Tech), Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly), St. Francis College and St. Joseph’s College.

 “They are eager to tap into the qualified talent we have in our universities,” Stephanie Steinberg, LIU Brooklyn’s assistant dean for career services and senior year advising, said of the 85 employers. “Our goal is to assist employers with their recruitment needs and to give our students an opportunity to meet a variety of employers and secure internships and jobs.”

Among the employers are Aflac, American Museum of Natural History, Apple, Baanyan Software Services, Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens, Con Edison, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Imagine Early Learning Centers, MTA-Metro North Railroad, Museum of Jewish Heritage, NYS Department of Labor, NY Perks Music Group, NYU Langone Medical Center, Raymour & Flanigan, Human Resources Administration/Department of Social Services, Visiting Nurse Service and WABC-TV.

“It is one of many services that LIU Brooklyn offers to students to support their career development,” said Steinberg, adding, “We appreciate the strong collaboration with the seven participating schools.”
