You may be hot stuff when it comes to artisinal cheese – but would you survive if you were lost in the woods? Do you know how to build your own shelter or start a fire without matches? What would you eat and where would you find water?

Urban Park Rangers skilled in the techniques of wilderness survival and emergency preparedness will be teaching essential survival skills on Saturday, February 11 at 1 p.m.

The free program is designed to be fun and family friendly (kids 8 and old are welcome), but the skills covered are deadly serious and might save your life. Whether you are preparing for an extended journey through the woods or just want to be more prepared for any situation, a wilderness survival program is always useful.

Dress appropriately for cold weather. The program starts at the Prospect Park Picnic House (in Prospect Park), West Drive and Third Street., Brooklyn. Call 718-421-2021 for more information.
