FULTON FERRY LANDING — Three former commercial buildings in the Fulton Ferry Landing Historic District that have been in the news many times in recent years are back on the market after having undergone only partial work toward a conversion to residential/retail.
TerraCRG reports it has been retained to sell the three adjoining four-story buildings at 11-15 Old Fulton St. and is seeking bids.
“The property is in need of a gut renovation and has proposed and approved plans for a 22,948-square-foot, 18-unit mixed-use building with the addition of a fifth floor,” said Ofer Cohen, founder and president of TerraCRG, who noted that in 2007 the plans were approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission and the Board of Standards and Appeals, which granted a variance to allow the residential/retail conversion.
The property is on a block that is also home to Grimaldi’s Pizza, Patsy’s Pizza, the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, Pete’s and the River Cafe.
“The area, including nearby DUMBO, has remained a highly sought-after neighborhood over the last decade, consistently fetching the highest prices for condo-conversions and townhouses in the Brooklyn market,” said Cohen.
A preliminary deadline for bids has been set for Thursday, Feb. 9.
