The Thanksgiving turkey is now history, Black Friday has comeand gone, and holiday season, 2011, is officially upon us.

From Bay Ridge to Dyker Heights to Bensonhurst, homeowners andbusinesspeople are busy putting up decorations, adding lights andwreaths and inflatable Santas to lawns, porches and store façades, hanging garlands of greenery and helping spread the spirit ofmerriment across the borough.

The result is a gorgeous display – one that enchants both young andold, who slow down as they walk or drive by to enjoy the sight, which is so dramatic it actually draws people from otherneighborhoods and other boroughs to our corner of the world, justto soak it all in.

The Home Reporter and Brooklyn Spectator wouldlike to salute those who put their time and effort into making theholidays bright for everyone. Between now and the end of the year,we will feature photos of beautifully decorated holiday homes onour website, www.homereporternews.com and in the pages of ournewspapers.

We will have photographers out with cameras taking pictures of manyof the artfully decorated houses. But, we also welcome homeownersand store proprietors to send us their photos.

The owner of the best decorated store and the owner of the mostbeautifully decorated home will both receive prizes, to bedetermined.

Post your photos on our website, www.homereporternews.comWe are looking forward to receiving them all, and savoring thesplendid sights that our neighbors put so much love intocreating.
