The alphabet has a life of its own.

Congregation B’nai Abraham in Brooklyn Heights this week begins a seven-part “mystical journey” into the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.

This series, geared for novices and scholars alike — no knowledge of Hebrew is required — is based on a book by the synagogue’s spiritual leader, Rabbi Aaron Raskin.

The classes will examine the meaning, numerology and design of the alef-beis, the Hebrew alphabet. Each 60 minute session begins at 8 p.m. in the synagogue library at 117 Remsen St., between Henry and Clinton streets.

In addition to leading the Orthodox community in Brooklyn Heights and Downtown Brooklyn, Rabbi Raskin is the author of several books, including “Letters of Light: A Mystical Journey Through The Hebrew Alphabet”; “The Rabbi and the CEO: The Ten Commandments for 21st Century Leader”; and “By Divine Design: The Kabbalah of Large and Small, and Missing Letters in the Parshah.”
