Cat Café in Heights receives $25K grant from ASPC Cat Café in Heights receives $25K grant from ASPCA: COVID-19 has severely impacted feline adoption haven

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition (BBAWC), which operates Brooklyn Cat Café, has been awarded a $25,000 grant from The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) as part of its national ASPCA Relief and Recovery Initiative, which includes providing $4 million in critical funding for animal welfare organizations whose programs, operations, or fundraising capabilities have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. The grant will help BBAWC fund essential lifesaving services such as spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, veterinary care, and an expanded foster program to meet the increased need for cat rescue during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The National Institute of Health says coronavirus can live on cardboard for an hour, and on plastic or metal surfaces for three days, so care needs to be taken to disinfect groceries and takeout.
