New York City’s most populous borough, Brooklyn, is home to nearly 2.6 million residents. If Brooklyn were an independent city it would be the fourth largest city in the United States. While Brooklyn has become the epitome of ‘cool and hip’ in recent years, for those that were born here, raised families here and improved communities over the years, Brooklyn has never been ‘uncool’.

Jews and visitors from around the world visit and pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City. It is a remnant from the Second Temple that Herod the Great built during his reign. It was destroyed in 70 C.E., during the First Jewish-Roman War. The history of the Jewish people and the Holy Land are topics to be explored in a 20-week Introduction to Judaism Course that several Brooklyn synagogues are co-sponsoring.
