The Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association is set to host its annual gala on Wednesday, May 15, at the Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook, marking one of the year’s most anticipated events in the legal community. This year, BWBA President Jovia Radix will honor three prominent legal professionals: Hon. Lillian Wan, Angelicque Moreno, and Judith Livingston, each a testament to the profound impact and dedication within the legal sphere.

Hon. Lillian Wan will receive the prestigious Beatrice M. Judge Award, recognizing her significant contributions to the judiciary and legal ethics. Currently serving as an associate justice in the New York State Appellate Division, Second Department, Judge Wan has a distinguished history of judicial service, including roles as justice in the Supreme Court, Kings County, and acting justice in various capacities.

Before her judicial appointments, Judge Wan was deeply involved in family and guardianship law, particularly in the context of child welfare and juvenile delinquency. Her dedication extends beyond the courtroom as she serves in leadership roles, including as the Immediate past president of the Asian American Judges Association of New York and a member of numerous ethical and advisory committees.
